Abbey Church

The Sabater Court was built during the term of Very Rev.Fr. Bernardo Perez, OSB as Rector-President of San Beda College. The court was built in honor of the founder of San Beda, Rev. Juan Sabater, OSB. He served as the superior of the Benedictine community in Manila from 1897-1902.

The Jubilee Garden commemorates the first 100 years of San Beda. The structure of the garden serves as a timeline of the milestones of the institution: The Diamond Jubilee Wall flanking the Original Gate built by Fr. Ennanual Balcruz marks the 75th anniversary of the college; the obelisk and the fountain marks the Golden Jubilee in 1951; and St. Bede’s Hall marks the Silver Jubilee. The Sacro Shrine Shine of Saint Benedictine by National Artist for Sculpture Napoleon Abueva was a later addition to the garden. It was donated by Atty. and Mrs. Avelino Cruz.

The Museum was first founded on January 2007, showcasing exhibitions of the different and dynamic aspects of history and culture of San Beda and introducing the Benedictine way of life which is the very foundation of the College.

The Abbot Lopez Hall is San Beda’s main auditorium named to honor Abbot Bernardo Ma. Lopez, OSB who was the Father-Rector of San Beda in years 1927-1937, 1949-1952, and 1958-1961. He was also abbot of the Abbey of Our Lady of Montserrat from the year 1963-1968. Located at the 2nd floor of the entrance of St. Bede’s Hall, this hall has witnessed many performances and conferences in San Beda-Manila. Before World War II, the auditorium, which was the center of cultural activities, once hosted concerts.

The Drummer Boy Memorial Monument, which stands beside the flagpole of the college, is dedicated to the four San Beda boy scouts Jose Antonio C. Delgado, Felix P. Fuentebella, Jr., Antonio R. Torrilo , Ascario A. Tuason, Jr. and their twenty scout companions who, while on their way to the 11th World Jamporee in Greece, died when their plane crashed into the Arabian Sea on July 28, 1963.

The Sports Complex is a testament to the commitment of San Beda to excellence in sports. It was conceptualized during the term of Very Rev. Fr. Bernardo Perez, OSB, and built during the term of Very Rev. Fr. Anscar Chupungco, OSB. It features the sports center, the soccer field, and the swimming pool. San Beda is the first academic institution in Manila to have swimming facilities.
The Sports center is also known as the “Don Luis Go Sy Memorial Center”. There are two gymnasiums inside the sports center, namely: Manuel V. Pangilinan Gymnasium and Robert Coyuito, Jr. Gymnasium. At the center is the large trophy room where all Bedan achievements in the field of athletics are displayed.
