San Beda and St. Benilde walloped their respective assignments Thursday to remain unscathed and atop the heap in the men’s division of the 85th NCAA table tennis competition at the Emilio Aguinaldo College Gym.

The Kurt de Guzman-mentored Lions slammed the Letran Knights and the Arellano U Chiefs in a pair of 3-0 results while the Blazers smashed the Jose Rizal Bombers and the Mapua Cardinals via the same result, 3-0, to keep their records immaculate.

San Beda and CSB now have 4-0 (win-loss) cards in this event organized by the Management Committee backed by Andro.

In women’s action, the Lady Blazers, the reigning champions, and the Lady Knights are in the lead pack on identical 3-0 slates.

Spearheaded by last year’s MVP Ayra Malabayabas, CSB downed San Sebastian, 3-0, while Letran overpowered Jose Rizal, 3-0.

San Beda isn’t that far behind as it smothered EAC, 3-0, to notch its second win in three outings for solo third place.

San Beda, meanwhile, pummeled a listless Jose Rizal, 3-0, to strengthen its grip of the lead in the juniors’ division with a 3-0 mark. (PNA)
