Dean's Message

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the largest academic unit in San Beda that offers a wide variety of undergraduate programs in Accountancy and Business as well as the Sciences, Humanities and Liberal Arts.

The combination of theory and practice is an essential characteristic of these programs that provide our students technical knowledge and critical understanding of theories and principles in classroom and research activities as well as practical experiences and structured learning in internships and partner communities.

One of the goals also of the CAS is to enhance the soft skills of our students. We provide opportunities for them to develop their critical thinking, leadership, problem-solving and communication skills – skills that are essential for lifelong learning.

Being in a Catholic educational institution, values formation anchored on the Catholic teachings and Benedictine spirituality is an integral part of our academic and formation programs. Students are exposed to different activities that will help them understand deeper their relationship with God and mold their values as persons and as believers.

In the CAS, we pray (ora) through our values formation activities like attending spiritual retreats, recollections, monthly masses and we work (labora) by offering our students programs where they acquire technical knowledge and develop their skills, for them to become successful professionals.

Come and join us in the CAS!
