COLLEGE OF MEDICINE
- ADMISSION POLICIES
- Applicants must obtain their Baccalaureate degree by the end of the second semester preceding admission to medical school. Those who will graduate after the summer session preceding admission to medical school will be considered on a case by case basis.
- Applicants must have taken the National Medical Admission Test. The Department sets the NMAT cut-off.
- Aside from the NMAT, all applicants shall take the aptitude assessment given by the College.
- Applicants must pass the interview given by the Admissions Committee of the College of Medicine.
- The Dean makes the final decision on the application of students. The decision to admit candidates for admission rests on the credentials submitted and the interview performance.
B. REQUIREMENTS
For Entrance Exams
A. ENTERING MEDICAL SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) of the last 3 ½ years of any Baccalaureate program. For graduates, complete TOR with General Weighted Average and Certificate of Class Ranking
- Photocopy of the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) results
- Certificate of Good Moral Character from dean or Office of Student Affairs
- One (1) photocopy of the Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office
- One (1) Letter of recommendation from a professor or dean
- Three (3) 2x2 pictures
- Application/Testing Fee of P1,500
B. TRANSFEREES
- Photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) from the following:
- last medical school attended and
- Pre-med /Tertiary school, indicating the General Weighted Average
- Photocopy of the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) results
- Certificate of Class Ranking from authorized office of Pre-med/Tertiary school attended
- Certificate of Good Moral Character from the dean or Office of Student Affairs of previous medical school
- One (1) photocopy of the Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office
- One (1) Letter of recommendation from a professor or dean
- Three (3) 2x2 pictures
- Application/Testing Fee of P1,500
C. FOREIGN STUDENTS
- Letter of Application
- Documents authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located
in the student’s country of origin or residence:
- Official Transcript of Records with General Weighted Average
- Certificate of Graduation or Diploma
- Notarized Affidavit of Support
- Personal History Statement
- Police Clearance
- Original Birth Certificate
- Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR)
- Certificate of Class Ranking from authorized office of Pre-med/Tertiary school attended
- Letter of Recommendation from two (2) former professors
- Three (3) 2x2 pictures
- Non-refundable Application and processing fees of $200.00
- Results of the National Medical Admissions Test (NMAT). The applicant must have met the minimum level set by the San Beda College of Medicine.
PROCEDURE
A. ENTERING MEDICAL SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Submit the requirements to the Admissions Center
- Get a receipt from the Accounting Office and pay application /testing fee of P1,500.00 at the Cashier’s Office
- Secure application form and test permit from the Admissions Center
- Take the entrance exam as scheduled
- Come for the interview on the scheduled date
- Follow up decision on your application from the Office of the Dean
- For successful applicants, reserve slot in the amount of Php20,000
- Complete and submit the following requirements to secure enrollment permit:
- Official Transcript of Records with remarks: “For Further Studies” or “ For Copy of San Beda College”, and with Grade Weighted Average
- Transfer Credentials/Honorable Dismissal
- NMAT Results
- Certificate of Class Ranking
- One (1) copy of the Birth Certificate issued by NSO
- Police Clearance
- Medical Clearance
- Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- Urinalysis
- Chest X-ray result (PA view) and film
- FBS, BUN, Creatinine, and Stool exam
Note: Laboratory tests must be done within a month’s time before
enrollment.
- Come promptly during the scheduled enrollment. Bring five (5) 2 x 2 photos required by the following Offices:
Dean’s Office – Four (4) 2x2 photos
Clinic – One (1) 2 x 2 photo
B. TRANSFEREES
- Submit the requirements to the College of Medicine. Credentials will be evaluated by the Dean
- Upon approval of the Dean, pay application/testing fee of P1,500.00 at the Accounting Office
- Secure application form and test permit from the Admissions Center
- Take the entrance exam as scheduled
- Come for the interview on the scheduled date
- Follow up decision on your application from the Office of the Dean
- For successful applicants, reserve slot in the amount of Php20,000
- Complete and submit the following requirements to secure enrollment permit:

C. FOREIGN STUDENTS
- Foreign students may apply directly at the Admissions Center or in writing, addressed to the Admissions Committee of San Beda College of Medicine (SBCM). The letter of application should include the above-mentioned requirements.
- Pay application and processing fees of $200.00at the Accounting office.
- Secure application form and testing permit from the Admissions Center and take the entrance exam as scheduled.
- Come for the interview on the scheduled date.
- All documents will be forwarded to the Admissions Committee of the College of Medicine for evaluation. The Admissions Committee will select qualified applicants and endorse them to the Dean for his approval.
- For successful applicants, reserve slot in the amount of Php20,000
- Complete the following requirements for submission:
- Official Transcript of Records with remarks: “For Further Studies” or “ For Copy of San Beda College”, and with Grade Weighted Average
- Transfer Credentials/Honorable Dismissal
- NMAT Results
- Certificate of Class Ranking
- One (1) copy of the Birth Certificate issued by NSO
- Police Clearance
- Medical Clearance
- Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- Urinalysis
- Chest X-ray result (PA view) and film

- The SBCM will furnish CHED a copy of the application for issuance of Certificate of Eligibility.
- The SBCM will endorse its recommendation to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Manila together with the following documents for the issuance of student visa:
- Notice of Acceptance
- Certificate of Eligibility from CHED
- Transcript of Records
- Notarized Affidavit of Support
- Personal History Statement
- Police Clearance
- Original Birth Certificate
- Certificate of Good Moral Character/recommendation from (2) professors)
Note: Items c- g: Documents authenticated by the Philippine
Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or
Residence
- Registration follows upon DFA’s approval of the application and notification of the Foreign Service Post concerned for the issuance of student visa.
- During the registration procedure, the foreign medical student will pay a one-time fee of US$ 5,000.00 to the Foreign Development Fund of the SBCM, a fund dedicated to the upgrading of the facilities of the SBCM. Bring five (5) 2 x 2 photos required by the following Offices:
