Admission Requirements


The following requirements have to be completed and submitted to the Graduate School of Business Office during enrollment in the Doctor of Business Administration Program for Foreign Students:

  • Five Copies of the Student’s Personal History Statement (PHS)
  • Transcript of Records/Scholastic Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post
  • A notarized affidavit of support including bank statements or notarized notice of grant for institutional scholars
  • A photocopy of data page of the student’s passport showing date and place of birth, and birth certificate duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post
  • Police clearance issued by the national police authorities in the student’s country of origin
  • Medical health certificate issued by an authorized physician including but not limited to a standard size chest x-ray, HIV, and Hepatitis B clearance
  • A Master’s Degree with thesis

GRADUATE SCHOOL

Graduate School of Law


Admission Requirements


1. Admission to the Graduate School is discretionary upon the Dean of the Graduate School of Law.


2. Candidates for admission must subscribe to the educational philosophy as expressed in the vision and mission of San Beda College and must be willing to conduct themselves, both in their academic and private lives, in a manner, consistent with the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.


Non-compliance in this aspect shall be ground for the Dean to refuse admission to the student, or to terminate the tenure of a student in the Graduate School of Law.


3. For the MASTER OF LAWS (LLM) program, only those may be admitted who have completed a basic law degree, including Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD), with a general average of not lower than 85% and who shall not have incurred any failing mark in any subject carrying a weight of three units or more. Any departure from this rule is discretionary on the dean.


4. For admission to the MASTER OF LEGAL STUDIES, the candidate must have completed in college at least eighteen (18) units of social sciencesubjects and are currently enrolled in a basic law program may be admitted. For admission to the MASTER OF LEGAL STUDIES, major in Criminal Justice Administration, the applicant must have completed a basic college or university-level degree with a general average of not lower than 85% in any of the following courses: Criminology, Public Safety, Public Security, Political Science, Legal Management or any related course.


For the MASTER OF LEGAL STUDIES, major in utriusque juris (formerly Canon Law), the student must have completed a basic college or university level degree with at least 18 units of theology.


5. Only those who have a Master of Laws, Master of Comparative Law, or Master of Juridical Science degree may be admitted to the DOCTOR OF JURIDICAL SCIENCE (formerly DOCTOR OF THE SCIENCE OF JURISPRUDENCE) (S.J.D.) program.


6. The decision of the Dean whether to admit a candidate for admission or not shall rest on the following considerations:

  1. Entering credentials
  2. Attitude of the candidate towards graduate education as far as can be determined
  3. The time the student can give to research and study.

Applicants for the program of Doctor of Medicine in San Beda Manila should submit the following:

  1. Completely filled out Application Form from the San Beda Manila Admissions Office (click here).

  2. Four 2”x 2” recent pictures with white background

  3. Photocopy of Official Transcript of Records – from undergraduate course (w/remarks: Copy for San Beda College or for Further Studies)*

  4. Photocopy of certificate of Graded Weighted Average Grade (GWAG)*

  5. Photocopy of certificate of Class Ranking*

  6. Photocopy of Honorable Dismissal from undergraduate degree program*

  7. Photocopy of certificate Good Moral Character

Admission Policies


1. The San Beda College of Law admits only those applicants whose credentials and personal qualifications yield evidence that they can offer an excellent academic performance and profit from the intellectual, social and spiritual opportunities offered by the College.

 

2. An applicant for admission to the law course should have pursued and satisfactorily completed in an authorized and recognized university or college the courses of study prescribed for a bachelor’s degree in arts or sciences; and should have earned the following number of units in preparatory law course: 18 units of English, 18 units of Social Science, 6 units of Mathematics and 6 units of Filipino.


Note: A bachelor’s degree holder who passed the entrance examination but lacks the required number of units in the required courses may conditionally enter the College of Law, but must satisfy these requirements before admission to Second Year Law.


3. All students entering the San Beda College of Law for the first time shall take an entrance examination, which consists mainly of a test of logic, comprehension, articulation, and aptitude for the law profession. Entrance examinations are given, upon prior application, in accordance with the schedule duly announced, generally at any time between the closing of the school year and reopening of classes.


4. As a matter of policy, the San Beda College of Law does not accept transferees from other schools, except in extremely meritorious cases as may be determined by the Dean.


5. All new students enrolling in the College of Law or reenrolling after an absence of two consecutive semesters are under academic probation for the entire school year. Old students may be admitted on probation in attendance, conduct or academics. In such cases, the Committee on Admission or the Dean may set the conditions under which they are admitted on probation.

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOOL

College of Nursing
(CON)


Admission Policies


In selecting applicants for admission, the following will be reviewed:

  1. Grades received in previous academic work;
  2. Entrance exam scores;
  3. Recommendation from the officials of the last school attended;
  4. Interviews, essay tests, and other supplementary credentials; and
  5. Certification of good moral character


In addition, applicants must:

  1. Possess a pleasing personality;
  2. meet the minimum height requirement (152.4cm for women and 157.48cm for men);and
  3. be physically fit (without deformities/abnormalities)


Specifically for freshmen, a 4th year high school general average of 82 and above with no grades below 80 in Science, Math, and English is required.

 

For transferees, admission is limited only to those seeking enlistment in the first or second year. Those who have completed his/her first and second year college in another school but would not otherwise qualify for admission in San Beda College as a transferee may be allowed to enroll as first year student again, provided he/she signs an affidavit waiving any and all credits earned in the school he/she came from. Transferees must also meet the following requirements:

  1. Must come from a Level II Accredited schools;
  2. Should not have a failing grade in any subject taken in college;
  3. Should have a weighted GPA not lower than 2.5 counting all the subjects taken in the school he/she was previously enrolled in and subjects to be credited in the academic program he/she is enlisting;
  4. Should neither have withdrawn nor have an incomplete grade in more than one (1) subject per semester in the school he/she was previously enrolled;
  5. Willing to repeat all General Education subjects with grades below 2.5;
  6. Should have passed the initial interview and evaluation of credentials to determine qualification for entrance examination;
  7. Must not have been previously enrolled in two or more colleges or universities;
  8. Should have passed the SBC entrance exam and interview; and
  9. Should submit all other requirements as deemed necessary by the Board of Admissions

1. Incoming Freshmen

For high school graduating students:  Submit the latest 4th year grading period (if not yet available, present the 3rd year high school report card & a certification that you are an incumbent 4th year student).


For high school graduates: Submit 4th year high school report card with complete grades.


b. Printed copy of the completed online application form with a 2x2 photo (See Applicant Access Module on the website: www.sanbeda.edu.ph)

2. Proceed to the Accounting Office to get a receipt which must be presented to the Cashier to pay the application/testing fee of P600.00 (1,000.00 for foreign applicants).

3. Secure the entrance test permit from the Admissions Center by presenting the Official receipt of payment.

4. Take the entrance exam as scheduled.

5. Access SBC website for the results of the entrance exam on the release date.


• For examinees who passed the entrance exam, set an appointment for interview with the CON Office of the Guidance Services: +632-7356011 ext. 4410

• For waitlisted, you may arrange your schedule of interview with the Office of the College Guidance Services (same contact detail above) for your application and credentials to be given further review

  1. Applicants for interview must come in proper attire. Some applicants may undergo more than one interview as may be deemed necessary by the interviewer. Final fourth year high school grades and recommendations will be reviewed to determine application status.
  2. For accepted applicants, pay reservation fee of P2,000.00. Submit the validated reservation form to the Admissions Center.
  3. Undergo the following laboratory exams and submit the results to our Clinic:

• Chest X-ray

• Electrocardiography (ECG)

• Complete Blood Count (CBC)

• Urinalysis

• Fecalysis

• Drug test (using urine)

• Pregnancy test
