What the CAS offers you
Accountancy. The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program provides students with an adequate technical knowledge in financial and managerial accounting, taxation, financial statements analysis, financial and operational auditing, management advisory services, operations research, information systems development and assurance, financial reporting, corporate tax planning, and cost analysis and control. The program prepares students for careers in public and private accounting, or related fields, such as banking and consulting. It also provides excellent preparation for graduate programs in accounting, business and law. With the completion of the program, a student will have the professional competence of a candidate for the CPA licensure examination.
Economics and Public Policy. The Bachelor of Science in Economics and Public Policy program is an economics-centered, multidisciplinary program, designed to equip students with knowledge and professional skills to elaborate and evaluate public policies in a wide range of contexts. The program focuses on the economic analytical and quantitative tools to design and evaluate public policies, with core courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic policies and econometrics. Likewise, it provides the necessary multidisciplinary approaches to deal with public policy problems with core courses in governance, law, management and political sciences.
Entrepreneurship. The Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship aims to instill in students the importance of honing an entrepreneurial mind-set that is expected to consequently create, wealth and productivity not only for oneself but to society at large. It is focused on developing and discovering the entrepreneurial strengths of the students and providing them the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for establishing and sustaining micro to small and medium enterprises. Moreover, the program enhances students with an enhanced passion, creative, and imaginative capabilities, and the essence of exploring it as a component of product conceptualization and development. Students would endure heavy researches in order to be abreast with knowledge and to be relevant at all times. At the end of the program, students are required to successfully defend their business plan and they are expected to have businesses of their own once they graduate. This program is geared towards making an entrepreneur.
Human Biology. The Bachelor of Science in Human Biology is a program of choice for aspiring undergraduate students in field of Science and Health. It prepares, develops and trains students to become independent and analytical thinkers with a continuing desire to learn and use their knowledge in, premedical course, to become biological-clinical researchers, pharmaceutical industry specialist, health care managers and other health and science related experts. Through provision of all aspects of learning institution, it will continue to produce scientific experts in the fields of instruction, research and service.
Financial Management. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Financial Management program focuses on understanding and mitigating the risks associated with the development, allocation and use of monetary resources within established legal and ethical frameworks. The program gives students perspectives on financial decision-making, computer–based financial analysis, the institutional and legal structures of corporate finance and financial institutions, and the application of theoretical models. In general, the program covers Corporate Financial Management, Investment Management, and Financial Services Management. The program hones the skill base necessary to prepare students to excel in these fields by developing their analytical abilities, knowledge of markets and accounting statements and interpersonal, oral and written communications kills. Graduates of the program enter careers with financial services firms as well as traditional domestic and multinational corporations. Positions available to finance majors include: account representative, auditor, controller, credit analyst, collector, financial analyst, financial planner, loan officer, securities analyst, stockbroker, or treasurer.
Human Resource Development Management. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Human Resource Management aims to prepare students for a career in the field of Human Resource Management and Development by playing a major role in recruitment, staffing, training, and helping in the management of people and the organization to its maximum capability in a highly fulfilling manner. The program includes the broad range of activities to develop the human capital of an organization, which covers career path and development, understanding effective and efficient communication within the organization, and the appreciation of the need for organizational development. The program also provides the freedom to make choices and pursue new and unlimited opportunities for professional growth in various corporations whether in manufacturing, marketing, and service sectors, or in the other different types of industries.
Information and Communications Technology. The Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology program is designed to provide students with the technical knowledge, critical understanding and competencies in developing, using, and managing tools for exchanging information in the business context. It provides students with the technical knowledge and competencies on logic formulation and algorithm analysis skills vital to computer programming and the design of modern computer operating systems, database management systems software, computer graphics and multi-media systems, data communications, network installation and administration and wireless applications, computer system organization, website development, social networking and e-commerce technologies.
Operations Management. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Operations Management prepares the students for the acquisition of competence and skills needed as managers in manufacturing and service-oriented businesses. This program introduces concepts and techniques for design, planning, and control of manufacturing and service operations. The program provides operations management tools and techniques for analyzing operations, and strategic context for making operational decisions for the design, functionality and improvement of production systems that create a company’s primary products or services. Setting standards and quality in operation is a primary concern of students taking this program. Professional careers may lead to plant management, quality assessment, facility management, and transportation design innovation and maintenance.
Legal Management. The Bachelor of Science in Legal Management program is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills regarding the laws of business, obligations and contracts, taxation, labor laws, and negotiable instruments as well as a global viewpoint and practical apprenticeship opportunities for exploring the legal aspects of business. Considered by many students as a degree preparatory to formal studies in law, the program likewise adequately equips students with the entrepreneurial skills, business and legal research skills, legal and business writing and verbal communication skills necessary for establishing their own business, pursuing post-graduate degree, or being part of the corporate environment.
Marketing Management. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing Management aims to equip students with the knowledge, abilities, and resources they need to communicate effectively in a wide variety of business situations. Students are expected to develop and execute integrated marketing and corporate communication plans that can inform, motivate and gain support from target publics to meet business objectives. In order to ensure that students achieve their professional goals in a rapidly growing global workplace, the program provides a realistic balance between communication theory and business practice. It emphasizes business writing, marketing and audience research, analytical and strategic thinking, oral presentations, nonverbal communication, cross-cultural communication, the small-group process, and the impact of ethics and technology on communication.
The importance of professional communication ethics and practices, truth in advertising and promotions will be emphasized throughout the program. Students enrolled in this program will be expected to join a related professional organization.
Psychology.The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program is designed to introduce students to various fields of study of mental processes and behavior of people. Courses included in the curriculum will facilitate in developing abilities, skills and attitudes useful in pursuing a career of service that would promote psychological wellness for others and the learners themselves. As they complete the courses in the program, they learn to be advocates in upholding awareness, understanding and appreciation of appropriate mental and emotional functioning as they interact with people from different walks of life, be it in the corporate, clinical, educational or community setting.
