College of Nursing
Admission Policies

In selecting applicants for admission, the following will be reviewed:

  1. Grades received in previous academic work;
  2. Entrance exam scores;
  3. Recommendation from the officials of the last school attended;
  4. Interviews, essay tests, and other supplementary credentials; and
  5. Certification of good moral character

In addition, applicants must:

  1. Possess a pleasing personality;
  2. meet the minimum height requirement (152.4cm for women and 157.48cm for men);and
  3. be physically fit (without deformities/abnormalities)

Specifically for freshmen, a 4th year high school general average of 82 and above with no grades below 80 in Science, Math, and English is required.

 

For transferees, admission is limited only to those seeking enlistment in the first or second year. Those who have completed his/her first and second year college in another school but would not otherwise qualify for admission in San Beda College as a transferee may be allowed to enroll as first year student again, provided he/she signs an affidavit waiving any and all credits earned in the school he/she came from. Transferees must also meet the following requirements:

  1. Must come from a Level II Accredited schools;
  2. Should not have a failing grade in any subject taken in college;
  3. Should have a weighted GPA not lower than 2.5 counting all the subjects taken in the school he/she was previously enrolled in and subjects to be credited in the academic program he/she is enlisting;
  4. Should neither have withdrawn nor have an incomplete grade in more than one (1) subject per semester in the school he/she was previously enrolled;
  5. Willing to repeat all General Education subjects with grades below 2.5;
  6. Should have passed the initial interview and evaluation of credentials to determine qualification for entrance examination;
  7. Must not have been previously enrolled in two or more colleges or universities;
  8. Should have passed the SBC entrance exam and interview; and
  9. Should submit all other requirements as deemed necessary by the Board of Admissions
Requirements for Entrance Exam

1. Incoming Freshmen

a. Two (2) photocopies of the Report Card

For high school graduating students: Submit the latest 4th year grading period (if not yet available, present the 3rd year high school report card & a certification that you are an incumbent 4th year student).

For high school graduates: Submit 4th year high school report card with complete grades.

b. Printed copy of the completed online application form with a 2x2 photo (See Applicant Access Module on the website: www.sanbeda.edu.ph)

c.Two (2) 2x2 colored photos (white background and with name tag)

d.Two (2) completed recommendation forms (See downloadable forms from the website)

e.Two (2) photocopies of Philippines Statistics Authority(PSA) birth certificate

f. Application/testing fee of PhP 600.00

2. Transferees/Second Courser (those who have taken courses from another school or those pursuing another undergraduate degree)

a. Two (2) photocopies of the certified true copy of grades (with general weighted average) marked “For Evaluation Purposes only”

b. Printed copy of the completed online application form with a 2x2 photo (See Applicant Access Module on the website: www.sanbeda.edu.ph)

c. Two (2) colored photos (white background and with name tag)

d. Two (2) photocopies of Philippines Statistics Authority(PSA) birth certificate

e. Two (2) completed recommendation forms (See downloadable forms from the website)

f. Certification of good moral character issued by the school

g. Application/testing fee of P600.00

3. Foreign Students (as indicated in the birth certificate)

a. Transcript of Records (authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Services Post from the country of origin)

b. Printed copy of the completed online application form with a 2x2 photo (See Applicant Access Module on the website: www.sanbeda.edu.ph)

c. Two (2) photocopies of Birth Certificate (authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Services Post from the country of origin)

d. Two (2) 2x2 colored photos (white background and with name tag)

e. English proficiency exam results

f. Two (2) completed recommendation forms (See downloadable forms from the website)

g. Certification of good moral character issued by the school

h. Application and testing fee of P1,000.00

Admission Process for Freshmen
  1. Prepare all the requirements and submit them to the Admissions Center. For foreign students, an interview will be conducted.
  2. Proceed to the Accounting Office to get a receipt which must be presented to the Cashier to pay the application/testing fee of P600.00 (1,000.00 for foreign applicants).
  3. Secure the entrance test permit from the Admissions Center by presenting the Official receipt of payment.
  4. Take the entrance exam as scheduled.
  5. Access SBC website for the results of the entrance exam on the release date.
  6. For examinees who passed the entrance exam, set an appointment for interview with the CON Office of the Guidance Services: +632-7356011 ext. 4410

    For waitlisted, you may arrange your schedule of interview with the Office of the College Guidance Services (same contact detail above) for your application and credentials to be given further review

  7. Applicants for interview must come in proper attire. Some applicants may undergo more than one interview as may be deemed necessary by the interviewer. Final fourth year high school grades and recommendations will be reviewed to determine application status.
  8. For accepted applicants, pay reservation fee of P2,000.00. Submit the validated reservation form to the Admissions Center.
  9. Undergo the following laboratory exams and submit the results to our Clinic:
  10. Chest X-ray

    Electrocardiography (ECG)

    Complete Blood Count (CBC)

    Urinalysis

    Fecalysis

    Drug test (using urine)

    Pregnancy test

  11. Submit the following to secure enrollment permit:

    B. Foreign Student

  13. Be prompt on your scheduled enrollment.
Admission Process for Transferees / Second Courser
  1. Present a copy of the grade to the Admissions Center for preliminary screening. An initial interview will be conducted upon passing the preliminary screening.
  2. Prepare all the requirements and submit them to the Admissions Center.
  3. Proceed to the Accounting Office to get a receipt which must be presented to the Cashier to pay the application/testing fee of P600.00 (P1,000.00 for foreign students) at the Cashier.
  4. Secure the entrance test permit from the Admissions Center by presenting the Official receipt of payment.
  5. Take the entrance exam as scheduled.
  6. Access SBC website for the results of the entrance exam on the release date.
  7. For examinees who passed the entrance exam, set an appointment for interview with the CON Office of the Guidance Services: +632-7356011 ext. 4410

    For waitlisted, you may arrange your schedule of interview with the CON Office of the College Guidance Services (same contact detail above) for your application and credentials to be given further review

Provincial Applicants
  1. Read the Admission Policies of the Department. For incoming freshman, prepare all the requirements and proceed to Step 2.
  2. For transferee and second degree program student, submit a copy of your grades through mail or e-mail (admissions@sanbeda.edu.ph) for preliminary screening. Wait for the assessment of your qualification to apply. If qualified, prepare the requirements for submission via mail.

  3. Pay the application/testing fee of Php 600.00 through bank under the account name of San Beda College.

  5. Submit all the requirements through mail together with the bank deposit slip as proof of payment for testing.

COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
Admission Policies
For Freshmen:
  1. Grades received in previous academic work;
  2. Entrance exam scores;
  3. Recommendation from the officials of the last school attended;
  4. Interviews, essay tests, and other supplementary credentials; and
  5. Certification of good moral character
For Transferees:
  1. GPA/GWA of 82 from last school attended
  2. No failing grade
  3. No incomplete grade nor withdrawn subject without permission in more than 3 units per semester
  4. Passed entrance examination and interview
  5. Favorable recommendation from officials of the last school attended
  1. Admission is limited only to those seeking enlistment in the first or second year of the desired course.
  2. Transferee must not have been previously enrolled in two or more colleges or universities unless grades are exceptionally high.
  3. Former San Beda-CAS student who transferred to another college/university is not allowed for re-admission.
  4. For accreditation of courses: A subject with a grade of 82 and above, which has the same description as the subject offered under the degree program, will be credited. However, it may be repeated if deemed necessary by the Board of Admissions.
PROCEDURE
  1. For Freshmen, prepare the requirements listed below and submit them to the Admissions Center.
  2. For Transferees, Second Degree Program students, and foreign students, an initial interview will be conducted. If initial interview is successful, prepare the requirements.

  4. Secure the entrance examination permit from the Admissions Center.
  5. Take the entrance exam as scheduled

    • For waitlisted, application and credentials will be given further review. You may arrange your schedule of interview with the College of Arts and Sciences- Guidance and Counseling of the department (same contact details above).
    • For those who passed the exam and for waitlisted, bring the following during interview:
      1. Freshmen

Passed

Come for interview on the date and time assigned to you. You should be accompanied by your parent/s or guardian. Please wear appropriate attire (e.g. shirt with collar, pants, and closed shoes) and bring the following:

  • Photocopy of the National Career Assessment Exam (NCAE) result
  • Photocopy of the Report Card for Third Quarter or the photocopy of the Final Report Card for Grade 10 (if available)

For successful interviewees, you may reserve your slot for enrollment in the amount of P2,500. Pay the amount to the Accounting Office. Return the validated Reservation Form to the Admissions Center.

Note: -The reservation fee is non-refundable, but it will be credited to your child’s tuition fee upon enrollment. Check payment will be accepted with a minimum of Php 2000 cash payment.

Admission Requirements

The following requirements have to be completed and submitted to the Graduate School of Business Office during enrollment in the Doctor of Business Administration Program for Foreign Students:

  • Five Copies of the Student’s Personal History Statement (PHS)
  • Transcript of Records/Scholastic Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post
  • A notarized affidavit of support including bank statements or notarized notice of grant for institutional scholars
  • A photocopy of data page of the student’s passport showing date and place of birth, and birth certificate duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post
  • Police clearance issued by the national police authorities in the student’s country of origin
  • Medical health certificate issued by an authorized physician including but not limited to a standard size chest x-ray, HIV, and Hepatitis B clearance
  • A Master’s Degree with thesis

  • A Bachelor's Degree with 85% or B or 2.00 average in the entire course

  • Special Order (S.O.) or Certification of Graduation from the Registrar of School last attended

Admission Policies

The San Beda College of Law admits only those applicants whose credentials and personal qualifications yield evidence that they can offer an excellent academic performance and profit from the intellectual, social and spiritual opportunities offered by the College.

 

1. An applicant for admission to the law course should have pursued and satisfactorily completed in an authorized and recognized university or college the courses of study prescribed for a bachelor’s degree in arts or sciences; and should have earned the following number of units in preparatory law course: 18 units of English, 18 units of Social Science, 6 units of Mathematics and 6 units of Filipino.

Note: A bachelor’s degree holder who passed the entrance examination but lacks the required number of units in the required courses may conditionally enter the College of Law, but must satisfy these requirements before admission to Second Year Law.

2. All students entering the San Beda College of Law for the first time shall take an entrance examination, which consists mainly of a test of logic, comprehension, articulation, and aptitude for the law profession. Entrance examinations are given, upon prior application, in accordance with the schedule duly announced, generally at any time between the closing of the school year and reopening of classes.

3. As a matter of policy, the San Beda College of Law does not accept transferees from other schools, except in extremely meritorious cases as may be determined by the Dean.

4. All new students enrolling in the College of Law or reenrolling after an absence of two consecutive semesters are under academic probation for the entire school year. Old students may be admitted on probation in attendance, conduct or academics. In such cases, the Committee on Admission or the Dean may set the conditions under which they are admitted on probation.

Admission Process

1. Submit the requirements to the Admissions Center.

2. Get a receipt from the Accounting Office and pay the application/testing fee of P1,300.00 at the Cashier’s Office.

3. Secure entrance examination permit from the Admissions Center.

4. Take the entrance exam as scheduled.

5. Claim the test result at the Admissions Center on the release date. The exam result can be accessed at the SBC website.

6. Examinees who qualify for admission must reserve their enrollment slots in the amount of P 3,000.00.

7. Prepare the following requirements to be submitted during enrollment:

a. Original Official Transcript of Records (TOR with remarks: “For 3Further Studies” or “For Copy of San Beda College of Law”)

If the school does not issue a TOR with the said remarks, submit a Certificate of Graduation and Transfer Credentials.

If the above-mentioned documents are not yet available, submit a certification from the Registrar’s office of the College/University, stating the DATE when the TOR will be released; or a photocopy of the receipt of your request for the document if the College/University is not issuing such certification.

b. Two Original Certificates of Good Moral Character:

Thank you for expressing your interest in enrolling in the San Beda College of Medicine. Please read through the following:

A. Application Requirements:

1. Applicants must be a graduate of aBaccalaureate program or a candidate for graduation of a Baccalaureate program by the end of the second semester preceding the application.

2. Applicants must have a valid National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) percentile rank of at least 40.

3. Applicants must submit the required documents to the San Beda College Admissions and Placement Center (APC) placed in 1 long brown envelope:

a. Accomplished application form (forms are available at the APC or may be downloaded fromthe official website: www.sanbeda.edu.ph);

b. Photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) of the last 3 ½ years of any accredited Baccalaureate program;

c. For graduates of a Baccalaureate degree, official TOR must be submitted;

d. Certificate of Class Ranking;

e. Certificate of General Weighted Average (GWAG);

f. Photocopy of National Statistics Office (NSO) issued Birth Certificate;

g. Two (2) Recommendation Letters (from former professors and/or Dean of the institution where the baccalaureate program was taken dated within the last two years);

4. An application fee of P 1,500.00 shall be charged for processing and entrance examination.

B. Application Guidelines:

1. Upon submission of the required documents, the APC will schedule the entrance examination.

2. Applicants will be informed of the schedule of interview through contact information provided in the application form.

a. An INITIAL AND PARTIAL RELEASE of accepted applicants will be announced on April 28, 2017.Applicants NOT INCLUDED in this initial list are still being considered for admission. Accepted applicants will be given until May 15, 2017 to pay the reservation fee and/or enroll for the incoming academic year otherwise they will be wait-listed.

b. The OFFICIAL LIST OF ACCEPTED APPLICANTS shall be released by the second half of May 2017. Accepted applicants will be given two (2) weeks from the posting of the list to reserve and/or enroll for the incoming academic year otherwise they will be wait-listed.

c. The list of successful applicants will be posted here.

3. The list of wait-listed applicants will be posted by June 2017.

C. Requirements for accepted applicants:

1. Pay a non-refundable reservation fee of P 30,000.00.

2. Submit the original copies of all required documents mentioned above.

3. Submit Honorable Dismissal from your previous school.

4. Submit a medical clearance certificate and copies of the following laboratory exams from any reputable hospital or clinic:

a. CBC

b. Urinalysis

c. Chest x-ray PA view (please bring film)

5. Submit two (2) copies of a recent 2x2 colored photo with white background.

Procedures for Admission of Foreign Students

Step 1

Foreign students seeking admission to the San Beda College of Medicine may apply directly or in writing to the Chairperson of the Admissions Office of the San Beda College of Medicine at Mendiola Street, San Miguel, Manila, Philippines. The letter of application will include the following documents in triplicate:

a. Letter of application

b. Transcript of Records authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

c. Certificate of Graduation or diploma authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

d. Notarized affidavit of support authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

e. Personal history statement, all original documents, including signature, photographs and thumb marks authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

f. Police Clearance certificate issued by the national police authorities in the student’s country of origin authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

g. Original birth certificate authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

h. Certificate of good moral character/recommendation from two (2) former professors, preferably the College Dean.

i. Application and processing fees – US $ 200.00 (non-refundable)

j. Results of the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) which is not lower than the minimum level set by the SBCM.

Step 2

1. The SBCM will receive the application, duly filed on time, together with the above-mentioned documents.

2. The admissions committee will select qualified applicants for admission.

3. The Dean of the College of Medicine will approve the applications upon the recommendation of the Admissions Office.

4. The SBCM will furnish the CHED a copy of the application for issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility (CEA)

Step 3

The CHED will evaluate the student’s records for issuance of the said CEA.

Step 4

1. The SBCM will endorse its recommendations to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Manila together with the following documents for the issuance of the student visa:

a. Notice of Acceptance from San Beda College of Medicine

b. Certificate of Eligibility from CHED

c. Transcript of records and diploma authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence

d. Notarized affidavit of support authenticated by the Philippine Foreign e. Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

e. Personal history statement, all original, including signature, photographs and thumb marks authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

f. Police Clearance certificate issued by the national police authorities in the student’s country of origin authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

g. Original birth certificate authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or residence.

2. The DFA upon approval of the application will notify the Foreign Service Post concerned for the issuance of the student visa.

3. Thereafter, the DFA will inform the San Beda College of Medicine and the CHED of the course of action taken.

Step 5

The Registration procedure found in Article 2 of this Handbook follows, if all the above requirements are complied with.

Step 6

During the registration procedure, the foreign medical student will pay a one-time fee of US$ 5,000.00 to the Foreign development fund of the SBCM, a fund dedicated to the upgrading of the facilities of the SBCM. This fund is non-refundable.

6. Get the test results at the Admissions Center on the date indicated on the stub that will be given to your child after taking the entrance test.

INTERVIEW

7. For successful examinees, come for interview. Please wear appropriate attire (e.g. shirt with collar, pants, and closed shoes) and bring the following:

- Photocopy of the National career Assessment Exam (NCAE) and National Achievement Test (NAT) results

- Photocopy of the 3rd Quarter Report Card or Final Report Card if available

- Two (2) accomplished recommendation forms (visit www.sanbeda.edu.ph > Admissions > Downloadable forms > Senior High School Recommendation Form)

8. For successful interviewees, pay the reservation fee of Php 2,500.00 to the Accounting office. Submit the machine-validated reservation form to the Admissions Center. You may also pay through bank and submit the deposit slip through e-mail (sbcrizal_admissions@yahoo.com/sbcrizal@sanbeda.edu.ph)

Important: The reservation fee is non-refundable and will be credited to your tuition upon enrollment.

ENROLLMENT

9. Submit the following to secure enrollment permit:

- Original copy and photocopy of the Final report card (Form 138) duly signed by the Principal

- ID photos (2 pcs. of 2x2 and 2 pcs. of 1x1)

- Original copy of Voucher Certificate (for ESC and QVR recipients)

- Photocopy of Junior High School Completion certificate (bring the original copy for verification)

10. Have your child checked-up for Medical and Dental records at the School Clinic.

- Bring 1 pc. 2x2 ID photo

11. Submit the Certificate of Honor for Rank 1 and Rank 2 of the batch for evaluation of scholarship grant.

Grade in any subject/quarter must not be lower than 80At least 2nd quarter with an average of 82% both in academic and conduct

2. Printed copy of the completed online application form (visit www.sanbeda.edu.ph > AIMS > Applicant Access Module)

3. One (1) 2x2 picture attached on the application form

4. One (1) certified photocopies of birth certificate

5. Photocopy of the Bank Deposit Slip (write name and Applicant ID)

6. Two (2) long brown envelopes

7. Application and testing fee of Php 300.00
